For the first time we have been able to offer both washed and natural processes of the exact same lot of coffee, from Beneficia La Cruz La Loma in Costa Rica. This coffee is the natural process, after we released the washed coffee at the beginning of the year.
Beneficia La Cruz La Loma is situated in Llano Bonito of Leon Cortes, at 1950 meters above sea level and its coffee variety is 100% Caturra.
Some characteristics of the farm: for shade they use poro and guineo trees and they plant avocado as an alternate product. All the farm care is manual and there is no use of insecticides to protect the environment and the workers health.
Harvest is mainly between January and February, months where the fruit is fully ripe, picked and milled on the same day. Only fully mature fruit is picked and then dried on african beds or parijuelas.
The coffee from La Loma farm is a high quality coffee because of all the care and strict control from the plantation, all thru the milling process and also because of the effort and dedication of the whole family.
In the same way as we received the washed coffee, this lot was also vacuum sealed into small 11.50kg bags to preserve its quality, dramatically slowing the aging process of the green. This means we are able to bring you are coffee which would normally be out of season.
